My Stay at Hush Hostel and Exploring Istanbul’s Historical Gems
If you’re planning a trip to Istanbul and looking for the best place to stay, look no further than Hush Hostel in the heart of Kadıköy. I recently spent a few days here and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As someone who loves exploring historical places, I found this Istanbul hostel to be the perfect base for my adventures.
I booked a dorm room at Hush Hostel, and from the moment I checked in, I felt right at home. The atmosphere is friendly, and the facilities are top-notch—everything you could want in a hostel in Istanbul. Every morning, I started my day with a hearty breakfast in their spacious kitchen. It’s fully equipped with an air fryer, microwave, three large refrigerators, and every utensil you could possibly need to cook up a meal. Whether you’re preparing a full breakfast or just a quick snack, the kitchen has you covered. The environment is so cozy that it feels like you’re cooking at home, but with the bonus of meeting other travelers from around the world.

After breakfast, I took advantage of Hush Hostel’s incredible co-working spaces. If you’re like me and need to get some work done while traveling, this is the best place to do it. The indoor co-working area is spacious, and the garden feels like a small forest, perfect for relaxing while still being productive. The garden offers plenty of power outlets, making it easy to plug in and work on your laptop. And if you’re looking for some inspiration, head up to the rooftop terrace. The view is breathtaking, overlooking the sea and the iconic Haydarpaşa train station. It’s a view that never gets old and one of the reasons why Hush Hostel stands out as one of the best hostels in Istanbul.
After a productive morning, it was time to explore the vibrant neighborhood of Kadıköy. My first stop was a quick workout at a nearby gym to recharge for the day ahead. Kadıköy is full of local spots, and finding a place to work out was a breeze. After the gym, I wandered around Kadıköy’s bustling marketplace. This part of Istanbul has a unique charm, with a perfect blend of old and new. Whether you’re shopping for souvenirs, tasting delicious local food, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, Kadıköy has something for everyone.
In the afternoon, I decided to explore a bit further and visit Beylerbeyi Palace, one of Istanbul’s hidden gems on the Asian side. The palace, which was once a summer residence for Ottoman sultans, is a stunning example of Ottoman architecture and a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The palace gardens, with their views of the Bosphorus, were the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
The next day, I shifted my focus to exploring Istanbul’s historical heart. I set out early and ventured into Fatih, where I visited some of the most famous sites in the city. My first stop was the legendary Hagia Sophia. Stepping inside this awe-inspiring building was like traveling back in time. Its massive dome and ancient mosaics left me speechless. Just across the square is the equally impressive Blue Mosque, with its six minarets and striking interior covered in blue tiles. After wandering through these landmarks, I headed to the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest markets in the world. It’s easy to get lost in its maze of shops, but that’s part of the fun. From handcrafted goods to Turkish spices, the Grand Bazaar has something for every traveler.
I ended the day with a stroll through Eminönü, taking in the beautiful views of the Golden Horn and the bustling waterfront. The energy of this part of Istanbul is unmatched, and it’s easy to see why so many travelers fall in love with this city.
After a full day of exploring, coming back to Hush Hostel was a breath of fresh air. Whether I was relaxing in the garden, working in the co-working space, or chatting with fellow travelers in the common area, I always felt at home. If you’re looking for a hostel in Turkey that combines comfort, convenience, and community, Hush Hostel is the perfect Istanbul place to stay. It truly is one of the best hostels in Istanbul.
